Orton-Gillingham Reading Instruction

Tutoring for students with reading struggles or dyslexia

Do you wish your child loved reading as much as he loved playing Mindcraft or other video games? Do you wish your child would spend as many hours reading as he spends watching YouTube videos? We’re ready to help make your wish become a reality. There’s a reason why your child hates reading.

First, we’ll pinpoint why your child has poor reading skills. Then we’ll create a personalized plan to teach your child the phonics concepts, word recognition skills, and rules needed to help him read and spell at grade level. Instruction is provided in our learning center in Fayetteville, GA or online.

Our reading instruction is highly interactive and is based on Orton-Gillingham principles – the gold standard in science-based reading instruction. We teach in the easiest way for the brain to learn, so students can rapidly build understanding and excel in the classroom.

Your child needs the specialized instruction we provide to help him overcome his reading struggles or dyslexia. Our phonics and reading instruction is aligned with the International Dyslexia Association’s Structured Literacy, and exceeds Common Core Standards.

How Our Reading + Spelling Instruction Will Help Your Child

You child will learn sound-symbol relationship, phonics, blends, syllable types, word structure, and spelling. He’ll also learn reading and spelling rules, and how these rules work. We’ve helped beginning readers, students who struggle with reading and/or spelling, and those diagnosed with Dyslexia, ADD, or ADHD improve their reading and spelling skills.

Instruction is targeted, interactive, and engaging so your child stays focused. Students use learning aids and hands-on activities to help them show and talk about their understanding of what they are learning.

This means your child won’t get left behind, and he will start to look forward to reading and classwork. We love it when students improve so much that they’re able to say “I don’t need your help. I can read this myself!”.

We’re Dedicated to Your Child’s Success

I’m Sylvia Adjeso, founder and instructor at Spark Thinking. I’m a teacher with 18+ years experience. My goal is to give families access to the personalized, targeted tutoring that changed my brother’s life.

When my brother was in Kindergarten, he started struggling in school. My mom waited for his skills to improve, but it got worse. Then she looked to his teachers for help. Frustrated by the lack of resources, she spent several years trying to find the right school and the right instruction before it was too late.

Our breakthrough happened when we finally found highly skilled educators who were able to pinpoint the underlying cause of his struggles.

They saw his strengths and his weaknesses and knew how to help him. After years of struggle, my brother started to thrive in the classroom. And not just for one year – but continuously. He is now a board-certified ENT Surgeon and a Lecturer.
